I have been developing gardens for myself for many (many) years in in Europe, Asia and the United States, during my time as an overseas charity worker. I now divide my time between UK and my small holiday cottage close to Bordeaux, France.
I have consolidated my practical experience with a Professional Diploma in Garden Design from Plumpton College, E Sussex, supported by pre-registration membership of the Society of Garden Designers. In 2016 I was a planting team member of the Gold Medal winning ‘Modern Slavery Garden’ at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and in 2017 assisted in the construction of the RHS ‘Edible Garden’.
I bring a variety of garden design influences from my overseas experience, including the study and loose practice of the Asian art of Feng Shui. My own garden is heavily influenced by the Arts & Crafts ethos, using and adapting existing materials and features; complimented with scent, touch and colour in the planting. It also provides a regular home for several hungry hedgehogs and flocks of starlings, sparrows and other birds. Other hobbies include sailing, stained glass and yoga. Committee Member for the Lewes & District Garden Society; Member of the Royal Horticultural Society.
I look forward to working with you.
